The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill
January 20, 2007

We rented The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill, a documentary I'd been looking forward to since it hit theaters in 2003. It's the story about a man who befriended and cared for the wild parrots in SF, until he had to move out of his home. For me, the parrots are a SF icon. I'd seen and heard them in the park near the offices I'd worked in from 1998-2002, long before this movie came out. The story is touching, heart-warming and heart-breaking, and we were charmed by the different personalities in the birds. Kitty seemed to enjoy the movie as well!

Kitty actually napped through the movie, so he didn't notice the birds until we were watching the DVD extras.

Going in for the catch.

Up close and personal.

Maybe I'll have better luck sitting next to the TV.

Man, that's a BIG BIRD!

If I could only reach inside the TV.

This just seems cruel! (but so entertaining for the humans!)
