Christmas Eve
December 24, 2006

We cooked a full Christmas feast for ourselves, complete with turkey, stuffing, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, gravy, and spinach salad. It was delicious! Then we opened presents from Fez, the Schneiders, and each other. What a fun Christmas!

Glazing the bird

I'm making cornbread bacon stuffing.

Bacon makes everything taste great!

Fragrant sage

Kitty really wanted to help out with the Christmas feast.

After about 3 hours, our golden bird is looking good!

The kitties' Christmas feast - stinky canned food.

A moist, delicious turkey.

Mashed potatoes with roasted garlic, and turkey gravy.

My stuffing, hot out of the oven.

Spinach salad with dried cranberries, blue cheese and slivered almonds makes for a very festive salad.

One of the turkey breasts was more than enough for tonight's dinner.

The remainder of our 12.75 lb. turkey will make lots of sandwiches.

Tryptophan kicks in for Matthew, and he succumbs to a long, post-meal snooze.

It's time for presents!

Fez sent us Trivial Pursuit, Totally 80s! Totally awesome!

R2D2 comes to Brooklyn, courtesy of Rita and Fred.

A lovely red scarf, also from Rita and Fred.

Gumball machine will be a fun addition to Matthew's office.

Measuring cups that flatten - the perfect thing for a NY kitchen.

Matthew loved my gift of a Nano.

And little Lego man magnets from the stocking are fun bits of nostalgia.

Check out all my loot! Some goodies for the palate, the bath, and lotto tickets. Come on big money!

I won!

The carnage.
Happy Holidays to all of our loved ones! We missed spending the holidays with our families, but we had a lot of fun here at home. Thanks to everyone who sent cards and gifts, we enjoyed them very much. We hope you all had wonderful holiday celebrations, where ever you might be, and we wish you all a very happy New Year!
