I have a new camera!
May 27, 2006

After much deliberation and research, I upgraded to the Panasonic DMC-FX01. This is quite a change from my tiny Pentax Optio S. It's a little bigger, and feels substantially heavier, but it's 6 megapixels and has a host of fancy features, like image stabilization. I took it for a spin around Brooklyn, in Park Slope, Prospect Park and Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

Pretty tree on 11th St.

Flowers in someone's front yard. This camera allows me to take pictures of things up close without blowing them out.

Sunbathing mallard duck.

Canada geese on a family outing.

The goose family take the kids for a swim.

Cute fuzzy babies!

Bluebell Wood - over 40,000 Spanish buebells bloom in late April and May.

Cherry Esplanade - the cherry blossom trees bloom for only a couple of weeks in the spring. They aren't quite so colorful the rest of the summer, but provide great shade.

This rose is about the size of my head!

Cranford Rose Garden opens in June. Guess I'll have to come back.

Back in Park Slope, kids were doing chalk art on the sidewalk.

Regina's Bakery is now a children's boutique. Guess it's expensive to change the signage!
