Broadway in Bryant Park
August 10, 2006

All summer long, Bryant Park has a series of lunchtime shows. On Thursdays, a few Broadway casts perform a few numbers from their hit shows. I caught the last one, which showed Drumstruck, a revival of The Fantasticks, Putnam County Spelling Bee, and a few numbers from the Actor's Fund annual benefit concert.

A beautiful summer day for the final show of the summer.

First up, Drumstruck, a high energy, upbeat performance.

The Fantasticks, one of the longest running shows on Broadway, is coming back to the theater.

Putnam County Spelling Bee is one of the funniest shows on Broadway right now. I was lucky enough to see it this year.

Shoshanna Bean, who we saw play Elpheba, the green witch in Wicked, has an amazing voice. She'll be performing at the Actor's Fund annual benefit show this year.

Talented women from a number of well-known shows perform one of the songs from The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, this year's benefit show.
