This is the last year of my 30s, so it was necessary to have a birthday party. The night started off with a little hiccup - the venue we had chosen was closed! So after some fast thinking and texting on Nicki’s part, we ended up at the Gaslight in the Meatpacking District. Turned out to be the perfect spot, with couches, fun music for dancing, and delicious cocktails. I’m so lucky to have so many fun and amazing friends!

I missed the big blizzard that hit NYC right after Christmas, which caused all sorts of problems around here. So there was a lot of build-up and prep for the first big snow of 2011. Sadly we only got a wimpy 8″ of snow in the city. I was selfishly hoping for enough to justify a snow day, though I’m not sure how much that would be.

We went to check out The Darby, newly opened supper club, complete with live jazz (and sometimes surprise music acts), red decor, and a well-dressed crowd. The food and wine were good, as was the company - a fun way to kick off 2011!

New Year’s Eve in SF was cold and rainy, and I was nursing a cold, but that didn’t stop me from ringing in the new year with friends. After a casual pizza dinner, we headed over to a friend’s house for champagne and a little Dick Clark. Here’s to a fantastic 2011!

This year Mom, Deirdre and I had lunch at Greens Restaurant in SF. The food was fantastic, and the view of the Golden Gate Bridge was lovely. A great day enjoyed by the Louie ladies!
