I’ve spent most of my (almost) five years here in NY living in Brooklyn, but tonight is my last night in this wonderful outer borough. I first moved to Park Slope in December of 2004, spent last summer in the West Village in Manhattan (loved it!), and last fall, I moved to a sweet little studio in a charming brownstone near Prospect Park, back in Brooklyn. I’ve made some great friends here, found some amazing restaurants, and truly enjoyed exploring the area. Neighborhood favorites include the farmers market at Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Prospect Park, Convivium, Blue Ribbon Brooklyn, Al di la, Total Wine Bar, Union Hall, Taro Sushi, and so many more I just can’t name. So I know I’ll be back to visit my friends and my old haunts.
But it’s time for a change, so I’m moving to Manhattan! I found a sweet (tiny) studio in a carriage house behind an apartment building in Chelsea. I’m very excited about my new neighborhood. I’m just a few blocks from quite a few goodies: art galleries, Chelsea Market, Union Square Greenmarket, a ridiculous number of shops to organize my stuff and fill my closet, and best of all, I can walk to work in 25 minutes! No more stuffy subway for me, at least until winter comes, then I’ll make like a mole and head underground. So wish me luck, and I’ll catch you all in the city!
