Well, maybe just cute trash bags.
Fanatics in NYC

Most women love their designer handbags, and if there’s a bargain to be had, even better. This crowd of ladies (and a few supportive men) waited for over an hour (in 2 little rain storms) for the final day of the Botkier sample sale to begin.

Europeans are passionate fanatics for football (or soccer, if you’re an American). This crowd was smooshed up outside tiny Bar Bossa watching the Italy vs. Spain match.
A Deluge of a Summer Storm
Last weekend, my old friend and colleague, Deva, was in town for business. We met up in Bryant Park to catch up over a glass of wine and a little people watching. The cafe was outdoors, and I knew a storm was imminent, but I was counting on the typical 15-minute shower. Unfortunately, this turned into a 45-minute downpour! We did our best to squeeze up under the awning over the bar, but by the time the rain stopped, we were both soaked. Next time, I’ll think twice before imparting my “experienced New Yorker” knowledge of summer storms!

The weather turned from sunny, warm and incredibly humid to full-on downpour!

Once it started, there was no refuge from this storm.

Luckily, we had a good sense of humor about our drippy situation (and a little help from a couple glasses of wine).

Our new friend from London had braved the day in white pants. I bet he’ll think twice about such a brave fashion choice next time he’s in town!
