One night, when Matthew and his buddy Ness were out, I enjoyed a night to myself. While I relaxed in front of the TV, something near the turtle tank caught my eye, and to my horror, there was an inch long cockroach walking around! I quickly trapped it, since I had been told that if you step on it, you risk squishing eggs onto your shoe and then tracking them around the floor, thus planting roach babies all over your house. Not sure how true that is, but I’d rather not find out, thank you very much. Anyway, I left it on the table for the boys to see how brave I am in the sport of cockroach wrangling.
I dumped the plastic container, roach and all, into the recycling bin outside, and the next day, I placed roach killers all throughout the department.
