I’ve had a love affair with Uniqlo since we discovered it in Tokyo back in 2004. I have been a frequent visitor (and shopper) at the only US store, here in NYC, since it opened last year. And last summer they bought one of Matthew’s logos, put it on T-shirts and sold them in stores around the world. Instant BIG LOVE for Uniqlo!
Today I discovered Uniqlock, an online clock that melds time, music and dance, and subtly advertises whatever they happen to be promoting in the stores. Currently it’s cashmere sweaters. The really cool thing is that you can put it on your blog and share its coolness with other people. And if you go to the Uniqlock site and select “World.Uniqlock” from the menu, you’ll see all the different blogs that are running it around the world! I’m convinced that cool interactive web projects like this are the future of advertising. Hey, I fell for it! (Note: I normally despise sites with auto-play sound, but it’s an integral part of this feature. If you hate it, click on the little sound icon at the lower right corner of the clock to shut it off.)
