My little brother got married in September, and he and Deirdre celebrated with family and friends last weekend with a reception in SF Chinatown. My new sister-in-law is awesome, and her family is lots of fun. I had a great time meeting my brother’s new extended family, seeing some of his old friends, and watching the two sides of my family reconnect (the last time was probably my parents’ wedding!). Also present were our parents’ friends, some who had not seen us since we were little kids! I was too busy setting up, greeting guests and helping coordinate the event, so I only got a few photos, but I found plenty of time to enjoy the party. Congrats to the newlyweds, and welcome to the Louie family Deirdre!

A photo from their wedding in Sonoma decorated the gift table.

Carrie is responsible for introducing Edward and Deirdre. Carrie and her husband Tony, who witnessed Edward and Deirdre’s marriage, recently welcomed their first child.

An opera singer was the pre-dinner entertainment.

I finally got to enjoy the end of cocktail hour with my cousin Kathy.

My dad gave a short welcome speech.

And Deirdre’s mom gave a short toast.

My cousin Matt decided to taste test the Peking Duck beak.

Family friends from long ago - some of them knew my parents before I was born! I haven’t seen most of them in a very long time, so it was nice to catch up.

Hey, who’s the suave bartender? It’s none other than our dear Fez!
